Our UEL International Study Centre came alive in early May as we celebrated our September 2022 cohort completing their studies with us and preparing to progress to their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University of East London.
On the day before King Charles’s Coronation Weekend, Centre Director Simon Fitch started proceedings by reminding our students that they’d started their studies the day after another UK royal event, the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, and that by being our biggest student group to date, they had made their own history since their arrival in September 2022. Academic Director Andreia Areal paid tribute to all 200+ students for their hard work and adapting well to studying in the UK, before awarding trophies to members of our Student Voice Group.
The event was then handed over to our students, with our course representatives taking it in turns to share their thoughts on the amazing experience they’d had during their time with us. To complete the evening, students and guests enjoyed a celebratory feast and lots of photo taking!
Once we’d said our final goodbyes to our progressing students, Student Services Manager Mythili reflected; “The team and I really enjoyed organising the leavers’ party, the last in a long line of celebratory events we’ve enjoyed in centre with the September 2022 cohort. Now we look forward to our January 2023 cohort completing their studies in the summer and to arranging an even larger event for them!”
